Longarm Quilting

RATES:

The cost for E2E quilting is 2.5 cents per square inch for all designs.

Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .025 = $120.

Minimum charge

My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.

Batting

I use and stock my favourite Hobbs Heirloom in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend in unbleached and bleached, as well as Warm and White.

Hobbs Heirloom, 80 cotton/ 20 polyester 96” unbleached $14.00/m

Hobbs Heirloom, 80 cotton/ 20 polyester 108” bleached $15.00/m

Warm Company, Warm and White batting 96” $19.00/m

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.

Binding

For some this is a challenging task, others greatly enjoy it!

Would you like that binding attached to the quilt front, for you to hand bind? Please supply binding for the quilt.

The cost is 0.10 per inch

[eg. (60+80) X2 =280 linear x 0.10= $28.00]

Would you like the binding attached and machine stitched to the front for the quilt?

The cost is 0.20 per inch.

Thread

I stock Omni (#40 weight), some Omni-V which is variegated and some Glide ( #50 weight). The Omni threads have a matte finish and the Glide has a sheen. Both threads are great choices.

I don't charge any extra fees for thread use, it's included in your per square inch price.

My personal style attempts to match or blend thread colour with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread colour.

Photography

Upon completion of the quilting, I will take photos of your quilt in my well-lit studio and then text/email you those images to use however you would like. I'd just ask that you credit me for the photo and/or quilting if posting publicly. This extra service is included in your square inch price.

Shipping

Ship your top and backing to me: I live in Burlington, Ontario and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.

Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via Canada Post (using flat rate when possible/economical), at your cost.

Insurance: Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Canada Post.

Other Costs

As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price.

Payment

After the work is complete, I will email an invoice and photographs. As soon as I receive your prompt payment, we can arrange a time for you to pick up your completed quilt.

If you are a “mail in” client, your completed quilt will be mailed back promptly, once payment has been received. Return shipping will be added to your invoice. E-transfer is my preferred payment method.
